PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jesus Christ (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dylan Carson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Christ's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Everything in it's right place. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carson lands a lovely overhand right.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

That was a close round but I would say that Jesus Christ will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Christ changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Carson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Jesus Christ seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Christ takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Christ swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Carson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Christ.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Carson wants to hold on but Christ pushes him away.
Christ sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Christ has control of Carson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Carson regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Christ goes for an armbar but Carson turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Carson.
Carson wants to stand but Christ is controlling his posture from full guard.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Christ looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Carson wants to improve his position but Christ is controlling well.
Carson is pressing down on Christ's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Carson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Christ postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Christ tries to free his leg and advance position but Carson is retaining full guard.
Carson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Christ is looking to work some ground and pound but Carson has wrist control.

Christ throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Carson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Jesus Christ overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Christ has gone for a leg lock! Carson slips out almost immediately though and dives into Christ's guard.

Carson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

That was a close round but Jesus Christ did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Christ here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Christ shoots in looking for a takedown. Carson tries to sprawl out of it but Christ keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Carson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Christ changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Carson tries to avoid it but Christ manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Carson to the ground. Carson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Christ looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Christ seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Carson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

I think Christ has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
