Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carlson Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Markus Bromley! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Matheus Silva and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie pivots, looking for a leg kick but Bromley is out of range and Gracie settles back down. A leg kick checked by Bromley. Bromley checks a leg kick. Bromley checks a leg kick nicely. Gracie throws a solid leg kick but Bromley takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Gracie. Carlson Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Some bone on bone action there as Bromley checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Gracie throws a leg kick but Bromley sees it coming and checks it nicely. Gracie throws a low kick but Bromley moves out of range easily. A momentary lapse in concentration from Gracie enables Bromley to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gracie manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Bromley pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gracie is keeping the position for now. Bromley drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gracie manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bromley has Gracie in his guard. Gracie trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Bromley throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Gracie escapes and throws Bromley's legs to the side, diving into side control! Bromley is not content to let Gracie control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bromley is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Bromley looking for submissions off his back. Gracie moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Bromley. Gracie trying to control the action but Bromley is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Bromley trying to remain calm as Gracie controls from the top position. Bromley is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Gracie off and has taken his back! Bromley just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Bromley working for a choke but Gracie is defending well. Gracie has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.

Bromley looking for the RNC. Bromley is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Gracie has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Gracie is trying to stand back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bromley working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Bromley is looking for the choke from the back position but Gracie is controlling his hands well. Gracie looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands. Bromley somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back. Gracie is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Markus Bromley dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
A clash of legs there as Bromley blocks the low kick. Bromley closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Bromley has hold of Gracie's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Gracie seems comfortable defending it but Bromley has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Gracie is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Gracie is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Bromley couldn't care less - he's delighted!
