Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Bader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Myrney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ryan Bader!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Adam Myrney!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Saam Ante and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bader feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Bader throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Myrney is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Myrney is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Myrney utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Myrney tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Bader knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Myrney on the ground.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Myrney bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bader's guard.

Bader keeping moving, preventing Myrney from controlling successfully.
Myrney pushes down on Bader's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Bader misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Bader looks like he's trying to stand up.

Myrney prevents Bader from standing back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Myrney lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Myrney decides to stand and escape the position.
Myrney misses with a straight right.
Myrney tries to clinch but Bader moves out of range.
Myrney tries for a takedown but Bader circles away easily

and Bader decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Myrney's guard.
Myrney looks gassed!
Bader postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Bader tries to stand but Myrney is controlling from the bottom.
Myrney looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bader is one step ahead there.
Myrney looking to control.
Bader trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Myrney manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Myrney lands a couple of elbows.
Myrney slips nicely into half guard.
Myrney looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Myrney wants to free his trapped foot but Bader is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Myrney wants to control but Bader is keeping him busy.

Myrney is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Myrney seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bader does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Bader is trying to get back to full guard.
Bader is trying to stand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Adam Myrney will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Myrney falls off balance throwing a combination

and Bader counters with a nice double leg into guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bader accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Myrney bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bader's guard.
Myrney wants to stand but Bader is controlling his posture from full guard.
Bader throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Bader keeping moving, preventing Myrney from controlling successfully.
Myrney passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.
Myrney is breathing heavily.

Bader missing with punches from the bottom.

Bader flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Myrney thows a huge punch but Bader dodges it nicely.
Myrney trying to pass the guard but Bader defending well.
Bader is looking to escape.

Myrney moves into side control, avoiding the strikes from Bader.
Bader tries to improve position but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Myrney taking a breather here.

Bader is looking for a sweep.

Myrney trying to control the action but Bader is working from the bottom.
Bader scores with a shot to the body.

Myrney stands up.
Myrney throws a sloppy head kick and Bader moves out of range easily.
Myrney darts in trying to clinch

and Bader counters with a nice double leg into side control. Myrney won't be happy with that.

Bader is chipping away with strikes.

Myrney takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Bader lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Myrney down.
Myrney trying his best to control but Bader has mounted him.
The referee warns Myrney that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Bader landing strikes from the mount and Myrney is in trouble!
Bader cracks Myrney with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Bader lands a heavy elbow.
Ryan Bader overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Myrney sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Bader trying to advance position but Myrney counters by regaining guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Myrney wants to sweep here but Bader controlling him for the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryan Bader dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Myrney doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Bader counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Bader.
Bader is looking to work some ground and pound but Myrney has wrist control.

Bader lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Bader throws a strike but Myrney rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Bader is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Bader tries to strike from the bottom.

Myrney stands and steps away. Bader gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Both fighters circling a little - Myrney finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Myrney manages to work his way to half guard, despite Bader's best efforts.

Bader is nestled in close to Myrney, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Myrney trying to hold on to Bader's head to control him but Bader postures up.
Bader winds up and cracks Myrney with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Bader looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Myrney with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The fighters are battling for position here. Myrney manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Myrney is trying to control the position but Bader postures up.
Bader lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Myrney trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Myrney lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Bader!
Bader is working to get back to half guard.
Myrney takes Bader's back, avoiding a couple of desperation strikes from the bottom.
Myrney struggling to keep hold of the position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
You can see the frustration on Bader's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Bader is working hard here to advance position.
Bader wants to get back to his feet.

Bader is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Myrney gets his way!
Myrney has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Bader.
I really don't envy Bader right now.
Myrney punishes Bader with strikes from the back mount.

Bader is trying to defend against the choke here but Myrney has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Myrney Tightens the hold and Bader taps out furiously! Myrney displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
