The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Battsmith.
Takaki scores with a head kick. Battsmith tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Takaki feints and then cracks Battsmith's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Battsmith down.
Takaki lands a leg kick that knocks Battsmith off balance momentarily.
Battsmith takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Takaki lands a leg kick that knocks Battsmith off balance momentarily.
Takaki lands with a slapping head kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Takaki keeps Battsmith at a distance using the push kick.
Battsmith shoots in looking for a takedown. Takaki tries to sprawl out of it but Battsmith keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Takaki manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kichiro Takaki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Battsmith looks gassed!
Takaki throws a head kick that Battsmith semi-blocks.
Battsmith takes a swing at Takaki's ribcage but misses.
Takaki lets loose with a powerful body kick. Battsmith will feel that in the morning.
Takaki bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Takaki connects with a high kick.
Battsmith is rocked!
Battsmith is keeping his hands low and just asking to be knocked out. Takaki Raises his leg and lands a stunning axe kick! Battsmith is out cold, face down on the mat!
