PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Darth Bader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Walton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darth Bader!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tim Walton!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Walton with that takedown attempt.
Bader lands with a right hand.
Walton shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bader but Bader pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Walton fails to land the takedown.
Darth Bader has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tim Walton.
Walton changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bader tries to avoid it but Walton manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bader to the ground. Bader escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bader misses with a jab, cross combination.
Walton uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bader.

Walton gets the takedown into side control.
Walton working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Walton tries to advance to mount but Bader denies him.
Bader pushes Walton away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Walton gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Walton creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Bader sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Sloppy strikes there by Walton.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Walton tries to score with some ground and pound. Bader controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Bader is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Bader pushes Walton away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Walton gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Bader prevents Walton from moving into mount.
Bader wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Walton misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Walton throws an elbow but Bader slips to the side and avoids it well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bader can't do much from the bottom here.
The strikes coming from Walton are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bader pushes Walton away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Walton gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Walton scores with punches from side control.
Walton looks up at the clock and then as Bader takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Walton smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Walton scores with a couple of short elbows.
Walton creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Bader sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Walton lands a few punches from side control.
Walton lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Bader down.
Walton tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bader prevents Walton from moving into mount.
Bader can't do much from the bottom here.
Bader trying to control but Walton flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
Walton gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.
Walton has Bader flattened out and is raining down punches.
Bader knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Walton on the ground.
You can see the frustration on Bader's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Walton is landing with strikes. Bader can't take much more of this.
Bader has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Walton scores with punches and elbows.
Bader is trying to get back to his feet but Walton has full control of the position and if anything, Bader has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Walton is punishing Bader with some ground and pound.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bader tries to roll but Walton sticks to his back.
Walton misses with punches from the back.
Bader covers up after that shot from Walton.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tim Walton dominated that round.
That's time! Bader's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Walton shoots in but no luck this time.
Bader scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Bader misses with a wild combination.
Walton shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bader sprawls well. Bader wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Walton gets slowly back to his feet.
No joy there for Bader, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bader stuffs the takedown.
Darth Bader has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tim Walton.
Bader lands a slapping body shot.
Bader lands a body shot.
Walton takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Bader stalks Walton and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Walton's face. Walton staggers backwards, shaken.
Walton is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Walton dodges the punch combination from Bader.
Bader works over Walton's head and body with a nice combination.
Walton takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Darth Bader seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bader throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Bader lands with a good body shot.
Bader moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Bader scores with a body shot.
Walton takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Nice straight punches there by Bader. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Bader.
Bader lands with a big left! Walton is wobbled badly! Bader comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Walton to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Darth Bader!
