Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Farrel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Korter Poundre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Farrel comes to the cage accompanied by Chemical Brothers Block Rockin Beats. Poundre has chosen Did My Time as his entrance music. Tyson Farrel had a look across the cage there at his opponent. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tyson Farrel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Korter Poundre! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Farrel gets a takedown into half guard. Poundre is looking to improve his position.
Farrel thows a huge punch but Poundre dodges it nicely.
Poundre is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Farrel pulls his head out easily. Poundre is refusing to be controlled, as Farrel sits in half guard. Poundre is trying to get back to full guard. Farrel content to control rather than advance.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Poundre tries for a takedown but Farrel circles away easily and Farrel counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Farrel. Farrel missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Poundre throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Farrel avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Farrel controlling from the top position. Farrel trying to control the position from guard on top but Poundre is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Poundre had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Farrel is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Poundre Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Farrel's back instead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Poundre has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Farrel has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Poundre looks gassed! Farrel turns into Poundre and is now in his guard.
Poundre throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Farrel escapes and throws Poundre's legs to the side, diving into side control! Farrel controls the position. Farrel decides to stand back up. Farrel is looking to clinch. Farrel slips under a jab from Poundre. Farrel closes the distance and clinches. Poundre jumps guard but Farrel stands there with Poundre around his waist. Poundre gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Farrel lands a body punch in the clinch. Farrel breaks from the clinch.
Farrel fails with an attempt to clinch.
Farrel shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Poundre can't escape the position.
Farrel postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Poundre looks a forlorn figure.

Poundre is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Farrel cracks Poundre with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Farrel connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Farrel lands with some strikes. Farrel in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Farrel looking to control but Poundre is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Farrel looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Farrel turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Poundre looks to move to half guard but instead Farrel has passed into mount! Damn! Poundre is looking to get to half guard. Farrel can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Poundre is looking to escape. Poundre tries to hold on but Farrel pushes him away. Farrel trying to control but Poundre is having none of it. Farrel is landing with some decent strikes but Poundre is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Poundre's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Poundre really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Farrel tries to control but Poundre wriggling away. Farrel with shots to the head and body - Poundre looks very uncomfortable down there. Farrel landing punches. A nice elbow there by Farrel. Poundre is trying desperately to improve position.

Tyson Farrel overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Poundre tries to reverse the position but Farrel maintains control. Farrel fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Farrel displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Poundre throws out the jab. Poundre with a nice cross. Nice defenses there by Farrel. Farrel is looking to clinch but Poundre is avoiding it.

Poundre throws a right and a left that Farrel avoids nicely. Farrel clinches. Poundre tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Farrel just stands there and leans against the cage. Poundre tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Farrel is working for takedown but Poundre is calmly controlling the position for now. Poundre fails to pull guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Poundre looks to score with a jab to the body but Farrel is just out of range. Poundre fails to land with a series of punches.
Farrel tries to close the distance and clinch up but Poundre swats him away and circles back towards the center. Farrel fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Poundre, pushing him back against the cage. Farrel breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Poundre throws a series of punches but Farrel avoids them all with ease. Poundre tries to clinch up and Farrel counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Farrel controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Farrel gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Poundre connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Poundre circles away from the clinch attempt.
Farrel tries to clinch up. Poundre swats away the attempt to clinch by Farrel. Poundre throws a combination. Farrel tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Farrel closes the distance and lands a one-two. Poundre keeps the fight on the outside. Poundre thows a left - swing and a miss! Farrel tries to clinch and Poundre counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Poundre keeps the fight on the outside. Poundre keeps the fight on the outside. Poundre takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Poundre circles away from the clinch attempt.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Farrel keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Poundre's head. Farrel looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Korter Poundre has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Farrel is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Poundre has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Farrel is looking to defend but Poundre has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Farrel! Poundre pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Farrel taps out and this one is all over!
