Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roy Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Great (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Great is looking to clinch.
Nelson shoots for a double leg takedown but Great sprawls well. He's pushed Nelson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Great doesn't manage to clinch there - Nelson circles away.
Great tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Nelson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Nelson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Great but Great pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Great is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Great works his way into side control.

Great remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Let's hope that Great has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
