Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between SUPER QUICK (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, SUPER QUICK!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jacob James!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Taro Takaoka and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

James has QUICK up against the cage in a clinch.
QUICK looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
James lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
James has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. QUICK avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
James jumps guard but QUICK stands there with James around his waist. James gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

James ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. James no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
James is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

James wants to sweep here but QUICK controlling him for the moment.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if James can do anything to dispel that myth.

QUICK decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
QUICK stuffs the takedown attempt from James. James gets slowly back to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
QUICK shoots in for a takedown but James shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
James shoots in looking for a takedown but QUICK manages to keep the fight standing, pushing James's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
James shoots for a takedown but QUICK saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

James wants to free his trapped foot but QUICK is holding on for dear life with his legs.
James wants to control but QUICK is keeping him busy.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

James is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
QUICK is trying to defend against the ground and pound but James scores with a couple of nice shots.

Still in half guard, James seems content to control.

James is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, QUICK has managed to free his arm - good work.
James slips a nice elbow through QUICK's hands, connecting with QUICK's forehead.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
QUICK looks like he's trying to stand up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jacob James dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


James tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but QUICK paws at him with a jab and circles away.
QUICK throws a leg kick but James checks it.

QUICK shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. James is trying to defend but QUICK finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
James wants to improve his position but QUICK is controlling well.
James is doing well to control the position and prevent QUICK from advancing to side control.
James is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

James is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
QUICK prevents James from standing back up.
James is positioning himself well to prevent QUICK advancing to mount.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
James uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
James shoots in for a takedown but QUICK shows good takedown defense.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
James fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
James shoots in but QUICK avoids the takedown attempt easily.
SUPER QUICK has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jacob James.
QUICK throws a body kick that misses.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from James lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and QUICK has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from QUICK and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Nice takedown defense from QUICK. No joy for James on that attempt.
James takes a head kick and keeps coming.
SUPER QUICK is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
QUICK throws a head kick but James moves out of range.
QUICK leaves James with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
QUICK looks to land a body kick but James moved away.

QUICK dives in and grabs James's left leg, looking for a takedown. James pushes down on QUICK's head and hops out.
James is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

James clinches up with QUICK and pushes him back against the cage.
James tries to pull guard but QUICK won't allow it.
James has QUICK pushed against the cage.
James stops a takedown attempt from QUICK.
James goes for a takedown attempt but QUICK pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
James fails with a takedown attempt.
James fails with an attempt to clinch.

QUICK connects with a high kick.

James throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. QUICK tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. James is in QUICK's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that SUPER QUICK will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


James tries to clinch there but QUICK circles away.
James wants to clinch up but QUICK keeps it at a distance.

QUICK gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
QUICK is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst James is controlling him.
James working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
QUICK keeping moving, preventing James from controlling successfully.
James is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
QUICK wants to get back to his feet but James is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
James slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Jacob James has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

James shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than James was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

QUICK tries to hold on but James postures up.
James lands with some strikes.
James raining down hammerfists from mount.
QUICK working to try and regain half guard.
James with a couple of short strikes.
James tries to control but QUICK wriggling away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
James lands with some strikes.
QUICK takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
James is landing with some decent strikes but QUICK is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
James tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
James lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

James is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but QUICK is surviving well by controlling James's body position as best he can.
QUICK is squirming around, avoiding James's attempts to control the action.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

QUICK defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from James.

James has control of QUICK's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and QUICK regains control of the situation pretty easily.
James fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

And that's the end of the fight!
Jacob James comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think James has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
