Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, David Schapiro and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch lands to the side of ruas 's head but he takes it in his stride.
marco ruas's cut is getting worse.
Steve Guida seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Guida moves out of range as ruas strikes.
Guida throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Guida slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Guida is on the wrong end of a nice combination from ruas.

Guida fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. ruas looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

and ruas counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Guida digs a good hook to ruas's body.
ruas is breathing heavily.
Guida misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
ruas misses with a wild body shot.
ruas doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and ruas makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Guida rushes ruas with punches - ruas moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, ruas goes down! Guida follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
