Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sergey Gribov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brayden Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sergey Gribov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Brayden Hunter!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Ivan Kurochkin and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gribov fails to land the takedown.
Gribov just misses with a punch to the body.

Gribov darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Hunter has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gribov is working away from the top position though.
Hunter tries to roll over but Gribov keeps him under control.
Hunter holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Hunter is looking to escape.
Gribov seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hunter does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Hunter really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gribov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Brayden Hunter wasn't active enough on the ground.
Hunter thuds his right hand into Gribov's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Gribov darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gribov seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hunter does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Gribov is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Gribov is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Gribov looking to secure an arm triangle but Hunter defends it well.
Hunter is desperately trying to improve his position but Gribov has a good base and remains in mount.

Gribov moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Hunter has worked his arm free - good work by Hunter!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hunter is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Hunter is looking to regain half guard here but Gribov keeps moving and retains side control.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Gribov tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Gribov goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Hunter rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Gribov's guard! Nice work there by Hunter!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Gribov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hunter doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hunter manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Hunter looking to sit in guard and control but Gribov gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Gribov trying to control but Hunter is working from the bottom.
Gribov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hunter swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Hunter looking for subs off his back but Gribov has passed one foot through into half guard.
Gribov seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hunter does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Hunter is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hunter is staying active underneath Gribov, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Hunter trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Hunter is wriggling around trying to escape.
Gribov takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Gribov avoids the attempt from Hunter to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sergey Gribov dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Hunter pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hunter defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gribov.

Gribov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Hunter is trying to hold Gribov in close to prevent damage but Gribov has managed to pass into half guard.
Hunter tries to get to full guard but Gribov has control of the leg.
Hunter is staying active underneath Gribov, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Gribov passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Hunter!

Gribov wants to finish this one by submission but Hunter is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Gribov.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gribov with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Gribov moves to take his opponent's back.
Gribov is not going to allow Hunter to sit and survive in this position.
Hunter is really stuck here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hunter staying busy and making it hard for Gribov to control.

Gribov sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Hunter taps out!
