Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Dmitry Maklakov and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sokolov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Sokolov will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Sokolov drops back looking for a leg! White is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and White manages to kick Sokolov off! Sokolov jumps back into White's guard.
White wants to stand and escape but Sokolov is having none of it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
White is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Sokolov turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Sokolov manages to end up in side control.

Sokolov really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

White is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Sokolov has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Sokolov tries to move to mount but White blocks the move with his legs.
Sokolov is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. White knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Sokolov wants to lay and pray for a moment but White keeps working.
Sokolov takes a little break here. White wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

White is not content to let Sokolov control the position.

White bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

White stops a takedown attempt from Sokolov.
White is looking to control Sokolov's arms but Sokolov gets an underhook and turns him. Now White has his back to the cage.
Sokolov changes levels and goes for a takedown here. White fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nikolai Sokolov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
White cracks Sokolov with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Vince White seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sokolov looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? White is fending him off so far but Sokolov persists. Nope, White circles away and we're back to standing.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

and Sokolov decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in White's guard.
Sokolov passes White's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Sokolov is trying to work for a kimura but White is defending well.
White is defending against the submission attempts here by Sokolov.

Sokolov tries to free his leg and advance position but White is retaining full guard.
Sokolov drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Sokolov as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! White screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Sokolov! Nice submission victory there!
