Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joe Lason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pedro Leon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joe Lason could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Pedro Leon's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Lason! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pedro Leon! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lason attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Leon closes the distance and clinches up with Lason, looking for a takedown. Leon pushes Lason against the cage but Lason circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Lason throws a head kick but Leon moves out of range.
Leon cracks Lason with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Leon rushes Lason and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Lason turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Lason manages to end up in side control. Lason trying to control the action but Leon is working from the bottom. You can see the frustration on Leon's face as Lason controls the position. Lason goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Leon rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Lason's guard! Nice work there by Leon! Leon with a flurry of punches that miss. Leon is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Leon drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Lason manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Leon has Lason in his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Leon keeping moving, preventing Lason from controlling successfully. Lason sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Leon's guard. Leon is staying active underneath Lason, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lason connects with a nice short shot to Leon's temple. Leon keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Lason is just content to waste time from the top position. Leon takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Leon is trying to control the position but Lason postures up. Lason stays in close to Leon's body and controls the position. Leon looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Lason puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Lason content to control rather than advance. Leon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Leon looks gassed! Lason is trying to control. Leon wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Leon wants to improve his position but Lason is controlling well.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Lason wants to work for an arm triangle but Leon is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Lason in particular looking to stall. Lason works his way into side control. Leon trying his best to control but Lason has mounted him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Lason controlling his opponent. Lason breaks from Leon's wrist control and lands an elbow. Lason trying to control but he's not successful this time. Lason is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Leon is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Leon is trying to escape the mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lason shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lason showed some decent athleticism there. Lason is looking to take a break and control but Leon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Leon avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Lason. Leon is looking to get back to full guard here but Lason has managed to pass to side control instead. Lason wants to control the pace but Leon is squirming around nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lason controlling the position easily from mount. Lason goes for an armbar but Leon turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Leon. Leon lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Leon throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Lason wants to sweep here but Leon controlling him for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lason trying to keep a closed guard but Leon is proving a slippery customer.
Lason working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Leon. Leon trying to stand up but can't free himself from Lason's guard. Leon is breathing heavily. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Lason is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Leon postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Lason is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Leon, into his guard. Lason looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lason is looking to stand up but Leon won't let him. Lason postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Lason forces his way into half guard. Lason trying to control the pace.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Leon regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Lason. Lason thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Lason stops Leon from standing up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Lason wants to stand but Leon is controlling his posture from full guard. Lason wants to control from the top but Leon keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Lason dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Lason, right into the meat.
Lason throws a head kick but Leon moves out of range.
Lason scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Lason sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Leon defending well though. Lason is keen to just control but Leon is a slippery customer. Leon wants to control but Lason is keeping busy and won't allow it. Lason stands up from half guard. Lason scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. No joy there for Lason, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Leon takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Leon avoids the head kick by Lason.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lason throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Lason misses with the combination.
Lason shoots for a takedown but Leon saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Lason misses with an uppercut. Lason tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Leon lands with a slapping head kick.
It looks like Joe Lason has been cut. Leon lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Joe Lason is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Nice shot by Leon. Leon tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lason swats him away and circles back towards the center. Lason shoots for a double leg takedown but Leon sprawls well. He's pushed Lason's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Leon lands with a nice combination. Lason backs away looking to recover. Leon decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Leon lands a nice short elbow. Leon is trying to work for a kimura but Lason is defending well.

Leon drops back, looking for a kneebar! Lason looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Lason looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Lason! Lason blocks the strikes from Leon.
Joe Lason is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Leon is looking for a sweep.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Lason stands up. Lason throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Leon tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lason is in Leon's guard. Lason wants to control from the top but Leon keeps moving. Lason trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Lason gets to his feet. Leon looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Lason drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pedro Leon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Lason content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
And that's the end of the fight! Joe Lason showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lason, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
