Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bryan Franklin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ernest Doyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bryan Franklin! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ernest Doyle! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Seu Braga and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A punch combination from Doyle misses. Franklin misses with a low kick. Doyle moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Franklin gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Franklin throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Doyle throws a right and a left that Franklin avoids nicely. Bryan Franklin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Franklin throws a head kick that misses. Doyle misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. A head kick by Franklin misses and Doyle counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Ernest Doyle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Franklin misses with a low kick as Doyle jumps back. Doyle fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Franklin manages to avoid it. Doyle throws a series of punches but Franklin moves out of range.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Doyle throws a sloppy head kick and Franklin moves out of range easily. Doyle bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Franklin's head. Doyle fails to land with a series of punches.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Franklin slips a jab and a cross from Doyle.

Franklin throws a leg kick that is checked and Franklin takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Doyle feints a jab promting Franklin to slip. Doyle then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Franklin slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Doyle throws a right and a left that both miss.

Doyle throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Bryan Franklin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Doyle lands a lovely overhand right. Franklin misses with a kick to the body and Doyle cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Doyle rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Franklin moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Franklin misses with a kick to the body and Doyle counters with a left and a right that stings Franklin. A low kick from Franklin is predictable there and Doyle counters with a single leg into guard. Franklin didn't expect that. Doyle advances position into side control! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. A lull in the action here as Doyle stalls from top position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Ernest Doyle was stalling too much, according to the referee. Doyle goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Franklin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Doyle stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Franklin to get to his feet.

So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Doyle will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

And that's the end of the fight! Ernest Doyle comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Doyle has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
