Christenstein manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Christenstein looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Henning shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Christenstein napping and manages to drive through into side control! Henning remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Christenstein tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Henning cranks the arm and Christenstein screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Christenstein, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Joe Henning!
