Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jason Hallman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob Steene (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steene tries for a takedown but Hallman sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Steene tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hallman sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Steene somewhat.
Steene checks a low kick from Hallman.
Steene shoots in for a takedown but Hallman shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Jason Hallman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jacob Steene.
Hallman tries to clinch but Steene moves out of range.
Nice defenses there by Steene.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Steene.
Steene clinches but Hallman breaks the clinch
and Hallman counters with a stiff right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hallman blocks a head kick by Steene.
Steene misses with an uppercut. Hallman saw that one coming.
Hallman throws a sloppy head kick and Steene moves out of range easily.

Hallman gets in close and instigates a clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hallman works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Hallman lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Hallman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Steene working for a triangle but Hallman defends it easily.
Hallman postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Hallman with a flurry of punches that miss.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hallman stops Steene from standing up.

Hallman drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hallman jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Hallman is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Hallman passes easily into side control. Nice work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Hallman tries for a kimura but Steene is defending well.
Steene is trying to control Hallman's posture but Hallman avoids it.

Hallman is working to tighten is grip on Steene's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Steene has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Hallman is really squeezing tight and eventually Steene passes out! Hallman breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
