Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jay Yap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Eleosida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yap comes into the arena with Tubthumping blaring out of the sound system. Nate Eleosida has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jay Yap! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nate Eleosida! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Sosuke Kotani and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Eleosida shoots in looking for a takedown. Yap tries to sprawl out of it but Eleosida keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Yap manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Eleosida fails with the takedown. Yap throws a sloppy head kick and Eleosida moves out of range easily. Yap tries to sprawl but Eleosida drives through with a takedown into half guard. Eleosida wants to lay and pray for a moment but Yap keeps working. Yap avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Eleosida. Yap is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Yap keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Eleosida sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Yap defending well though. Eleosida throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Yap knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Eleosida on the ground. Eleosida not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Eleosida winds up and cracks Yap with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Eleosida looks to land a strike but Yap avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Yap on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Yap tries to get out of the position. Yap avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Yap seems keen to control Eleosida's posture. Eleosida postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Eleosida trying to control but Yap is working from the bottom. Eleosida working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Yap's head. Eleosida trying to control but Yap is working from the bottom. Eleosida is looking to work some ground and pound but Yap has wrist control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Eleosida postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Eleosida has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Yap keeping moving, preventing Eleosida from controlling successfully. Eleosida throwing strikes but missing. Eleosida lands a couple of elbows. Yap working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Eleosida. Eleosida is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Yap avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Eleosida working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Eleosida accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Yap preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Eleosida postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Yap is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Eleosida throws a big right hand that misses. Eleosida throws a big right hand that misses. Eleosida trying to control but Yap is working from the bottom. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Eleosida keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Yap's head. Eleosida looking to pass the guard. Eleosida wants to control from the top but Yap keeps moving. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Eleosida accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Eleosida working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Eleosida with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Eleosida is working Yap over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Eleosida throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Eleosida missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Yap avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Eleosida stands up over Yap, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Eleosida wants to control from the top but Yap keeps moving. Eleosida throws and elbow that misses. Yap uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Eleosida's guard. Nice move by Yap! Eleosida uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Yap throws a hook but Eleosida blocks it. Eleosida avoids a kick to the body.
That's five minutes gone in the round. A combination from Yap does no damage. Eleosida changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Yap tries to avoid it but Eleosida manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Yap to the ground. Yap escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Jay Yap has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nate Eleosida. Yap displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Yap lands with a cross. Yap misses the shot to the body. Eleosida blocks a head kick by Yap.
Eleosida bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Eleosida looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Yap is avoiding damage well.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Eleosida misses with the ground and pound. Yap is working to avoid the ground and pound but Eleosida connects with a decent elbow.
It looks like Jay Yap has been cut. Yap parries the strikes from Eleosida easily there. Eleosida is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Yap to escape.
Eleosida lands an elbow. Yap avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Eleosida. Eleosida creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Yap on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Yap is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Eleosida lands a decent elbow from side control. Oh Yap is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Eleosida is chipping away with strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Eleosida scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Yap is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Eleosida can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 7:02 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nate Eleosida!
