PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between matt bera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, matt bera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Peter Parker!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Fedor Mirinova and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parker fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

bera closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Parker did well to prevent bera getting side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. bera lands a nice short elbow.
bera is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Parker is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Parker tries to score a power double leg takedown but bera sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Parker somewhat.
matt bera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. bera connects with a nice short shot to Parker's temple.

Parker wants to control but bera is keeping busy and won't allow it.

bera is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Parker is hurt! He's hurt bad - bera fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Parker from any more punishment! Congratulations to bera! Great finish!
