Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Watson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Hanks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hanks has chosen AC/DC - Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mark Watson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Fred Hanks! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Leandro Rodrigues and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hanks stuffs the takedown attempt from Watson. Watson gets slowly back to his feet. Hanks fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Watson throws a looping overhand right but Hanks ducks down to avoid it. Hanks uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Watson. The fighters circling - Watson throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Hanks swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Watson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hanks connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Watson's hands. Watson moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Hanks blocks a jab. Watson throws a shot to the body.
Watson fails with a takedown attempt. Watson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Watson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hanks will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hanks throws a jab when Watson was well out of range. Watson darts in and clinches Hanks up against the cage. Hanks pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Watson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Watson is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Watson passes Hanks's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Watson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hanks can do anything to dispel that myth. Watson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Hanks is trying to get back to full guard. Hanks blocking the ground and pound attempt from Watson. Hanks avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Watson. Hanks keeping control of the position. Watson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Hanks wants to improve his position but Watson is controlling well.
Watson with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Watson is trying to control the action in half guard but Hanks is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Watson drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. A big right from Watson misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mark Watson dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Hanks throws a big shot that misses. A slow jab from Watson misses its intended target. A big right from Watson misses. A looping hook to the body misses from Watson. Hanks does a little dance to reset his feet. Hanks looks to land a right hand but Watson moved out of range. Hanks bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Watson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Hanks is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Hanks getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
It looks like Mark Watson has been cut. Hanks gets tackled into the cage by Watson. Watson maintains the clinch. Watson is stalling here.

Hanks wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Hanks blocks an uppercut.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Hanks. Watson is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Hanks's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems. Watson stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

and Hanks counters with a one-two to the body. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hanks looks to score with a jab to the body but Watson is just out of range. Hanks stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hanks wants it to stay on the feet. Watson takes one on the button. Hanks moves forwards but Watson connects with a nice, crisp jab. Hanks leaves Watson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Hanks misses with an uppercut.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Watson moves out of range of the strikes. Hanks slaps away a takedown attempt from Watson, before circling back to the center of the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Watson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hanks uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Watson. Hanks missing with a left hand there. Watson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Hanks avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Watson wants to clinch. Hanks might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Watson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hanks as he jumps to the side. Hanks just misses with a punch to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Hanks swinging wildly here.
