PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tayeb Taheri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kosh Joscheck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Tayeb Taheri!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Kosh Joscheck!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Daniel Bishop and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taheri shoots in for a takedown but Joscheck shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Taheri throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Joscheck was covering up waiting for the punch and Taheri finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Joscheck is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Joscheck lands strikes from half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Taheri pushes Joscheck off and gets back to his feet.

Joscheck changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Taheri looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Joscheck is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Taheri has escaped the position, nice work there.
You can see the frustration on Taheri's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Taheri is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Joscheck's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Joscheck is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Taheri defends it well.
Taheri wants to control but Joscheck is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Joscheck connects with a nice short shot to Taheri's temple.


It looks like Tayeb Taheri has been cut.

Joscheck distracts Taheri with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Taheri controls Joscheck momentarily but Joscheck frees himself.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Taheri trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Joscheck content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Joscheck really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Taheri. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Joscheck postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Taheri is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Joscheck, into his guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Joscheck is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Taheri is aware though and is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Joscheck with a lazy takedown attempt

so Taheri counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Joscheck has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Taheri can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Taheri seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Taheri wants to take a breather but Joscheck is having none of it.

Taheri is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Joscheck is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Joscheck escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Taheri gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Well Joscheck has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
