Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sparring Partner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Stanley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sparring Partner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, George Stanley! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stanley swats away the attempt to clinch by Partner. The fighters circling - Partner throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Sparring Partner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Stanley will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Partner tries for a takedown but Stanley sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stanley throws a right and a left that Partner avoids nicely. Partner fails in his attempt to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Partner closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Partner lands in his opponent's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Partner trying to control but Stanley is working from the bottom. Partner working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Stanley is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Stanley keeping moving, preventing Partner from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Partner is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Stanley is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Partner advances position into side control! Stanley regains half guard, as Partner was trying to land strikes. Partner has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Stanley is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Partner scores with a couple of nice shots.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stanley won't allow Partner to pass to mount. Partner wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stanley keeps working. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Partner tries to pass the half guard into mount. Stanley knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Stanley is trying to control but can't.
Partner not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Stanley is staying active underneath Partner, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Partner not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Partner throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Partner controlling the pace. Partner uses his free foot to push down on Stanley's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Stanley. Partner content just to control the position here. Partner misses with a head shot.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Partner landing shots from mount. Poor strikes thrown by Partner there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

That's six minutes gone in the round. Partner content just to control the position here. Partner lands a big elbow. Partner with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

That's seven minutes gone in the round. Partner has hold of Stanley's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Stanley manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

That's eight minutes gone in the round. Partner can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Stanley is looking to escape. Partner thowing shots but they're missing. Stanley looks gassed! Partner lands a big shot there that rocks Stanley but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

That's nine minutes gone in the round. Partner can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Stanley is looking to escape. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Partner with good strikes from the mount here! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sparring Partner dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Partner throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Partner tries to clinch there but Stanley circles away.
Stanley takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Partner throws a hook to the side of Stanley's head but Stanley sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Partner darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Partner content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Partner's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Partner throwing shots but Stanley is blocking nicely. Partner wants to pass to mount but Stanley is defending the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Partner throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Partner looks to land a strike but Stanley avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Stanley keeping moving, preventing Partner from controlling successfully. Partner looking to pass the guard. Partner trying to control the position from guard on top but Stanley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Partner postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

We're going to have a standup here because Sparring Partner wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Stanley defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Partner. Partner fails with a takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Partner throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Partner fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Stanley manages to avoid it. Partner tries to close the distance and clinch but Stanley swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Partner moves in looking to clinch but Stanley pushes him off. Stanley keeps the fight on the outside.
That's six minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Partner showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Stanley.
Stanley displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Partner. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sparring Partner. That's going to take a lot out of him. Stanley loads up on a big right hand but Partner slips the punch. George Stanley has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Stanley ducks under a wild hook from Partner. George Stanley is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Stanley catches Partner with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Stanley uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Partner. Stanley ducks under a wild hook from Partner. Partner wants to clinch. Stanley slips a straight right by Partner.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Stanley throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Stanley dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Stanley blocks a jab.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Stanley misses with the combination.
No luck for Partner with that takedown attempt. Partner moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Partner is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Stanley misses with a few strikes there.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sparring Partner. I think Partner has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
