Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Larry O Leary (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Wells (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). O Leary comes to the cage accompanied by one day like this. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Larry O Leary! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chris Wells! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wells throws a hook to the side of O Leary's head but O Leary sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. O Leary doesn't succeed with the takedown and Wells makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Wells throws a low kick but it's checked well by O Leary. Wells keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Wells lands a nice leg kick that just misses O Leary's sensitive parts. Larry O Leary seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Decent striking displayed by O Leary there. Wells tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and O Leary is able to avoid easily. Wells misses with a jab to the body
so O Leary counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. O Leary wants to control from the top but Wells keeps moving. Wells trying to keep a closed guard but O Leary is proving a slippery customer.
O Leary got a little sloppy there for a moment and Wells has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, O Leary has managed to get both his arms back between Wells's legs - danger averted. O Leary working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. O Leary loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. O Leary looking to pass the guard. O Leary throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Wells has momentary wrist control but O Leary slips an elbow through the middle. O Leary controlling from the top position. O Leary throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Wells works some decent striking defense from the bottom. O Leary throwing strikes but missing. O Leary throws and elbow that misses. Wells uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in O Leary's guard. Nice move by Wells!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Wells pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. O Leary is keeping the position for now. Wells trying to control the position from guard on top but O Leary is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Wells missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. O Leary controls Wells momentarily but Wells frees himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. O Leary looking for a sweep. Not yet O Leary, not yet. Wells looking to sit in guard and control but O Leary gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Wells looking for a sweep. Not yet Wells, not yet. O Leary wants to control from the top but Wells keeps moving. Wells pulls O Leary in to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. O Leary postures up in Wells's guard and throws a big left but Wells blocks it. O Leary trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. O Leary in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. O Leary won't allow Wells to sweep him here. O Leary with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. O Leary throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Wells works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wells lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for O Leary! O Leary regains half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Larry O Leary will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
O Leary's corner calls for a 1-2. O Leary obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Wells keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Wells throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Wells displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from O Leary. O Leary misses with a wild body shot. Wells misses the body punch and O Leary counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by O Leary. O Leary manages to break the clinch.
O Leary lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Wells wants to slow O Leary down by chopping away at his legs. O Leary shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Wells napping and manages to drive through into side control! Wells dodges the ground and pound from O Leary. Wells tries to buck O Leary off but O Leary is having none of it. Wells taking punishment in the form of punches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wells avoids any damage from the ground and pound of O Leary. O Leary fails to land a wild elbow strike.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wells on the wrong end of some ground and pound. O Leary is chipping away with strikes.
O Leary in side control, just content to control the action for now. O Leary has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Wells! O Leary fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
That's two minutes gone in the round. O Leary looking to control but Wells is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Wells is wriggling around trying to escape.
O Leary lands with some strikes. Wells is breathing heavily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! O Leary lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Wells is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. O Leary working away from the top, dropping strikes. O Leary lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Wells hang on? Wells in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. O Leary scores with a couple of good head shots there.
O Leary scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Wells?
That's three minutes gone in the round. O Leary scoring with strikes but Wells is staying in there. O Leary looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Wells covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
