Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Scott Jerman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, jj tt!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Alyssa Summers and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jerman clinches up with tt and pushes him back against the cage.
Jerman can't break the clinch.
tt changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Jerman fights it off and pushes away nicely.
tt moves into the clinch successfully.
Jerman tries for a takedown. No joy.
tt turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and tt manages to end up in side control.
tt is looking to take a break and control but Jerman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Jerman gets back to half guard.
tt tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Jerman wants to get back to full guard but tt has mounted him!
Jerman wants to control but tt is having none of it.
tt working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
That's one minute gone in the round.
tt stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Jerman throws a series of punches but tt moves out of range.
tt throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jerman's waist but Jerman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing tt off to one side.
tt fails with the takedown.
Scott Jerman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of jj tt.
Jerman misses with a body kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - tt looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Jerman moves to clinch but tt breaks away
and tt counters with a single leg into guard. Jerman didn't expect that.
Jerman working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because tt has passed into half guard!
Jerman is refusing to be controlled, as tt sits in half guard.
tt is working for a kimura but Jerman is defending it quite comfortably.
Jerman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for tt on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
tt works his way into full mount!
Jerman might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
tt has control of Jerman's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Jerman regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
tt blocks Jerman's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Jerman on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jerman tries to get out of the position.
tt is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Jerman to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Jerman shrugs it off.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jerman is trying to escape the mount.
tt working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
tt has hold of Jerman's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Jerman manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Jerman is trying desperately to improve position.
tt can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jerman is looking to escape.
Jerman tries to reverse the position but tt maintains control.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jerman is breathing heavily.
tt swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
