Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brad Barnes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barnes comes to the cage accompanied by Red Right Hand - Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Lewis has chosen Justin Moore - I Could Kick Your Ass as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brad Barnes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Lewis!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewis tries to score with a low kick but Barnes moves his leg out of the way.

Lewis thows a body shot but no joy.
Lewis lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Lewis scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Lewis will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

It looks like Mark Lewis has been cut.

Barnes is looking to control Lewis's arms but Lewis gets an underhook and turns him. Now Barnes has his back to the cage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Barnes is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Lewis has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Lewis misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Lewis has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Barnes tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lewis wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The cut man is working on Mark Lewis's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Lewis closes the distance and clinches up with Barnes, looking for a takedown. Lewis pushes Barnes against the cage but Barnes circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Lewis cracks Barnes with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Barnes lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
