Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Murpy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodrigo Ribeiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Murpy comes to the cage accompanied by Victory. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Charlie Murpy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rodrigo Ribeiro! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ribeiro scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Murpy trying to control but Ribeiro postures up.
Ribeiro is tying to control. Murpy wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Ribeiro trying to pass the guard but Murpy defending well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ribeiro wants to lay and pray for a moment but Murpy keeps working. Murpy wants to get back to full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Murpy moves into range and clinches up with Ribeiro. Murpy can't get the takedown.
Murpy ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Murpy no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Ribeiro missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Murpy is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Ribeiro Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Murpy's back instead. Ribeiro is trying to stick to Murpy's back but Murpy is turning into Ribeiro. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Ribeiro's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Murpy.

Ribeiro has momentary wrist control but Murpy slips an elbow through the middle. Ribeiro keeping moving, preventing Murpy from controlling successfully.

That was a close round but I would say that Charlie Murpy will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Ribeiro clinches but Murpy breaks the clinch and Murpy counters with a lovely straight right hand! Murpy wants to land a leg kick but Ribeiro is out of range. Murpy shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Murpy showed some decent athleticism there. Murpy is looking for a kimura here.

Murpy is trying to control the action in half guard but Ribeiro is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Ribeiro keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Ribeiro trying to hold on to Murpy's head to control him but Murpy postures up.
Murpy seems to be working for a kimura but Ribeiro defends the submission attempt. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Murpy throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ribeiro. Murpy scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Ribeiro drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Murpy is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Ribeiro throws a leg kick and Murpy counters by clinching up. Murpy manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Ribeiro looking to sit in guard and control but Murpy gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Ribeiro keeping full guard, as Murpy tries to pass. Ribeiro lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Murpy!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Murpy looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Ribeiro really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Murpy. Ribeiro is trying to stick to Murpy's back but Murpy is turning into Ribeiro. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Ribeiro's guard. Ribeiro is pressing down on Murpy's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Murpy trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Murpy not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Murpy trying to control the position from guard on top but Ribeiro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Murpy advances position into side control! Ribeiro prevents Murpy from moving into mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Ribeiro takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Murpy thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Murpy working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Ribeiro sneaks back into half guard. Murpy is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Ribeiro gets full guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ribeiro is on top in guard.

Charlie Murpy dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

and Murpy decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ribeiro's guard. Ribeiro wants to sweep here but Murpy controlling him for the moment. Murpy pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ribeiro is keeping the position for now. Ribeiro controls Murpy momentarily but Murpy frees himself. Murpy drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ribeiro looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ribeiro looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ribeiro! Ribeiro tries for a kimura but Murpy is defending well. Murpy is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Ribeiro thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. You can see the frustration on Murpy's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Murpy is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Murpy struggling a bit here.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. A nice combination there by Murpy.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Murpy lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Murpy connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Ribeiro fails with the takedown and Murpy moves into the clinch. Murpy manages to pull guard.
Ribeiro drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Ribeiro as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Murpy screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Ribeiro! Nice submission victory there!
