Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ray Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thad Alvies (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lewis comes into the arena with I Couldn't Get High blaring out of the sound system. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvies closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lewis struggling a bit here.
Lewis is looking to regain half guard here but Alvies keeps moving and retains side control.

You can see the frustration on Lewis's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Alvies had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Lewis is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Alvies Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Lewis's back instead.

That was a close round but I would say that Ray Lewis will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
