PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Al Bundy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dallas Hall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Al Bundy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dallas Hall!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Skip Squint and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hall tries for a takedown but Bundy sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Bundy staying out of range there.

Bundy fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hall, pushing him back against the cage.
Hall has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Bundy is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Bundy's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Bundy misses with a series of wild punches.
Hall tries to bum rush Bundy with a series of wild strikes but Bundy uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Hall shoots for a takedown but Bundy saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Al Bundy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dallas Hall.

Bundy forces Hall back against the cage and clinches.
Bundy taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Hall is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Hall can't get the takedown.

Bundy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Sloppy strikes from Bundy. Those never looked like landing.
Hall looks for a takedown but Bundy sprawls well.
Al Bundy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bundy lands with a nice combination. Hall backs away looking to recover.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Hall!
Hall throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Bundy gets a clinch.

Bundy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Hall waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Bundy.
Hall shoots in but Bundy avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Hall looks gassed!
Bundy stalks Hall and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Hall's face. Hall staggers backwards, shaken.


It looks like Dallas Hall has been cut.
Hall avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hall changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bundy tries to avoid it but Hall manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bundy to the ground. Bundy escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Dallas Hall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hall.

Bundy moves into the clinch successfully.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Bundy breaks from the clinch.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Hall has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Bundy avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Bundy's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Bundy has closed the distance and engaged Hall in a clinch.
Hall drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Bundy gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Bundy has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Bundy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Bundy manages to break the clinch.
Hall tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bundy swivels and escapes.
Bundy swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Hall counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Bundy utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Hall trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Bundy manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Bundy won't allow Hall to get back to his feet.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Bundy stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bundy wants it to stay on the feet.

A frustrated look appears on Bundy's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Hall fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Bundy prevents a takedown attempt there.
Al Bundy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dallas Hall.

Bundy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hall is defended easily by Bundy.
Hall shoots in but no luck this time.
Hall is breathing heavily.

Hall drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Bundy gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Bundy tries to bum rush Hall with a series of wild strikes but Hall uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bundy misses with a jab, cross combination.
Hall has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Bundy avoids the body shot from Hall.
Bundy defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hall.
Bundy misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Bundy takes the fight into the clinch.
Hall fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Bundy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Bundy is trying to break free.
Hall prevents Bundy from breaking the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bundy avoiding damage.
Hall has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Bundy is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Hall has Bundy pressed against the cage, preventing Bundy from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bundy connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Bundy misses with a two punch combination.
Bundy leaves Hall with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Bundy forces Hall back against the cage and clinches.
Bundy wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Hall has him pressed against the cage.
Hall has Bundy pressed against the cage, preventing Bundy from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Bundy breaks from the clinch.
Bundy closes the distance and lands a one-two.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bundy lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hall circles away quickly and effectively.
Hall fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Hall gets tackled into the cage by Bundy. Bundy maintains the clinch.
Bundy is trying to force a seperation but Hall has the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Hall keeps control of Bundy as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Bundy has Hall pressed against the cage.

Bundy escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bundy swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hall will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Bundy rushes Hall and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Hall keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Bundy's efforts to push away.
Hall has Bundy pressed against the cage, preventing Bundy from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Bundy is pushing Hall up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Bundy lands with a short punch from the clinch.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hall is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Bundy gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Dallas Hall has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Bundy is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Al Bundy is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bundy, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
