Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Ogden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ogden is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Pantera - Drag The Waters. David Ogden has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ricardo Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, David Ogden! The judges for this bout are , and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva stuffs the takedown. Silva lands with a nice body punch. Silva ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ogden moves away. Silva clinches with his opponent.
Silva stalls. A frustrated look appears on Silva's face as he tries to break the clinch. Ogden wants a takedown but no success here.
Ogden tries for a takedown. No joy.
Ricardo Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Ogden. Ogden has Silva pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Silva manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. A head punch blocked on the inside by Ogden. Silva pressing his opponent against the cage. Ogden looking for a takedown. Silva swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Ogden wants a takedown but no success here.
Silva's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Ogden prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva stalls. Silva gets underhooks to prevent Ogden's takedown attempt.
Silva breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Silva swings away with a leg kick that misses. Good leg kick by Silva there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Silva throws a sloppy head kick and Ogden moves out of range easily. Ogden shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Silva pinned against the cage. Silva gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Ogden shoots for a double leg takedown but Silva sprawls well. He's pushed Ogden's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Ogden closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Silva did well to prevent Ogden getting side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva won't allow Ogden to pass to mount. Ogden is looking for a kimura here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ogden is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Silva has managed to free his arm - good work. Ogden looks gassed! Ogden is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Silva reverses the position - he's now on top in Ogden's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ogden looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Silva wants to control from the top but Ogden keeps moving. Ogden tries to land a sweep but no joy. Silva trying to control but Ogden is working from the bottom. Silva slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Ogden working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Silva doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Silva manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Ogden keeping moving, preventing Silva from controlling successfully.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Ricardo Silva wasn't doing enough on the ground. Silva tries to land a front kick but Ogden steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Silva clinches. Ogden has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Silva is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Ogden tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Silva avoids it. A head punch blocked on the inside by Ogden. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ricardo Silva dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Silva tries to clinch but Ogden moves out of range. Ogden doesn't manage to clinch there - Silva circles away.
Silva clinches. Ogden can't break the clinch.
Silva escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ogden fails with an attempt to clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ogden. Silva swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Ogden. Ogden keeps the fight on the outside. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ogden looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Ogden being controlled here momentarily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ogden missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Ogden wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving. Ogden drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Silva dives on top into guard. Silva controls from within his opponent's guard. Ogden working for a triangle but Silva defends it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Ogden has his foot on Silva's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Silva works his way back into a safe position though. Silva trying to move into half guard but instead Ogden has managed to sweep! Ogden drops back, looking for a kneebar! Silva looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Silva looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Silva! Ogden tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva tries to advance to mount but Ogden denies him. Ogden manages to get back to half guard. Silva perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Ogden is looking to improve his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Ricardo Silva wasn't doing enough on the ground. Ogden on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Silva darts in and clinches Ogden up against the cage. Silva leaning his opponent against the cage. Ogden blocking some punches.
Silva can't get the takedown.
Silva tries to circle away but Ogden has him pinned against the cage. Silva throws a punch but it's blocked by Ogden. Silva is trying to break the clinch but Ogden has him pressed against the cage. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Silva. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ogden shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Silva throws out a leg kick but Ogden moves out of range and Silva only half commits. Silva misses with a hook. Silva misses with an uppercut. Ogden saw that one coming.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ogden slips a jab from Silva. Ogden shoots in looking for a takedown. Silva tries to sprawl out of it but Ogden keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Silva manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Ricardo Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Ogden. Silva tries a head kick but it misses.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Silva scores with a head kick. Ogden tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Silva misses with a wild body shot. Ogden throws a hook but Silva avoids it easily. Ogden shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Silva as he jumps to the side. An inside leg kick lands from Silva. Silva lands a nice looking body kick. Silva throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ogden showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Silva.
Silva tries a low kick but Ogden avoids it. Ogden bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Ogden looks to clinch and Silva counters with a low kick, right behind Ogden 's knee. Silva just misses with a punch to the body.
Ogden wants to clinch up but Silva keeps it at a distance. Silva throws a leg kick but Ogden checks it. Ogden has managed to clinch.
Silva doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Ogden turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Ogden manages to end up in side control. Silva gets back to half guard. Ogden is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Silva is just riding it out for now. Ogden eventually gives up the hold.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ogden seems to be working for a kimura but Silva defends the submission attempt. David Ogden has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ogden seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Ogden looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Ogden is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Silva has managed to free his arm - good work.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ricardo Silva. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Silva, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
