Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Robert Drysdale!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tom Rayes!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drysdale keeps the fight on the outside.

Rayes is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Drysdale's half guard.
Rayes trying to control the action but Drysdale is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Drysdale is defending against the submission attempts here by Rayes.
Drysdale is not content to let Rayes control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rayes trying to control from Drysdale's half guard. Drysdale has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Rayes throwing strikes from guard but Drysdale blocks nicely.
Rayes must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Drysdale wants to sweep here but Rayes controlling him for the moment.
Drysdale is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Rayes working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Drysdale holds on and takes a little breather.
Drysdale keeping moving, preventing Rayes from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Tom Rayes was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Drysdale looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Rayes slaps away a takedown attempt from Drysdale, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Rayes misses with a head kick.

Rayes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Drysdale paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Drysdale counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Drysdale pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rayes is keeping the position for now.

Drysdale is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Rayes looks gassed!
Drysdale stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rayes swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Drysdale slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Drysdale passes Rayes's left leg - he's now in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Robert Drysdale dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Drysdale darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Drysdale passes the guard and advances to mount!

Drysdale working for a submission but Rayes is keeping him at bay.

Drysdale wants to finish this one by submission but Rayes is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Drysdale.

Drysdale moves to back control.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Drysdale working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.

Drysdale is cranking Rayes's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Rayes! He's tightened the choke and Rayes is tapping out!
