Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between John Xayle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jefferson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Xayle might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Ready For War - 50 Cent (Instrumental). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Xayle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jefferson Silva!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Patrick Alders and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Xayle wants to clinch.
Silva looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Xayle shoots in and bounces Silva off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Xayle has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Xayle decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Xayle has taken the fight to the clinch.
Xayle pressing his opponent against the cage.
Xayle lands a nice elbow.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Xayle pulls guard effortlessly.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Xayle wants to stand and escape but Silva is having none of it.

Xayle pushes Silva off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Xayle shoots in but no luck this time.

Xayle gets a takedown into half guard.
Xayle is controlling the pace.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Xayle trying to pass the guard but Silva defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Xayle dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Xayle tries to close the distance and clinch up but Silva swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Xayle throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silva's waist but Silva gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Xayle off to one side.
Silva avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Xayle closes the distance and clinches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Xayle lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Silva or not.
Silva is breathing heavily.
Xayle using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.

Xayle jumps guard and drags Silva to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Xayle wants to stand and escape but Silva is having none of it.

Xayle pushes Silva off and gets back to his feet.
Silva stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Silva wants it to stay on the feet.

Xayle darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Xayle decides to stand up.
John Xayle is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Xayle fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Xayle. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Xayle is looking to clinch.
Xayle fails with a takedown attempt.

Xayle rushes Silva and presses him up against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Xayle ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Xayle no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Silva postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Xayle is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Silva, into his guard.

Xayle stands up from guard. Let's bang!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Xayle dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Xayle dives in and grabs Silva's left leg, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes down on Xayle's head and hops out.
Xayle tries to clinch there but Silva circles away.
Silva swats away the attempt to clinch by Xayle.

Xayle shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Xayle tries to stand but can't do so whilst Silva controls his leg.
Silva takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Xayle stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Xayle shoots in for a takedown but Silva shows good takedown defense.

Xayle pushes Silva up against the cage in a clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Xayle pulls guard.

Xayle has his feet on Silva's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Xayle closes the distance and clinches.
Stalling in the clinch from Xayle.

Xayle ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Xayle no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Xayle is looking to stand up but Silva isn't so interested in that idea.

Xayle has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Silva off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Xayle scores a takedown into full mount!
Xayle takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

And that's the end of the fight!
John Xayle showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Xayle, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
