Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Nik Murashkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dragan Kovach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dragan Kovach! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Sergei Dronov and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kovach wants to clinch up but Murashkin keeps it at a distance. Murashkin fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Kovach wants to clinch up but Murashkin keeps it at a distance. Murashkin decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Murashkin is trying to work for a kimura but Kovach is defending well.
Murashkin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kovach is just riding it out for now. Murashkin eventually gives up the hold. Kovach is defending against the submission attempts here by Murashkin.

That's one minute gone in the round. Murashkin wants to advance to full mount but Kovach doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Murashkin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Kovach is controlling Murashkin's posture. Kovach is trying to control the position but Murashkin postures up. Murashkin trying to control but Kovach is working from the bottom. Murashkin stops Kovach from standing up. Murashkin trying to control the position from guard on top but Kovach is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Murashkin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Murashkin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Murashkin thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Kovach pushes Murashkin off and scrambles back to his feet.
Kovach doesn't succeed with the takedown and Murashkin counters with a shoot takedown. Kovach fights it but they end up in guard. Murashkin thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Murashkin postures up.
Murashkin drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kovach looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kovach looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kovach! Murashkin gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Murashkin looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Murashkin looking for submissions off his back. Murashkin actively working from the bottom here. Murashkin makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Murashkin. Kovach stands up and waves to Murashkin to follow him. Kovach closes the distance looking to clinch and Murashkin counters with a nice double leg into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kovach keeping moving, preventing Murashkin from controlling successfully. Murashkin drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kovach manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Murashkin has Kovach in his guard. Murashkin is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Murashkin looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Murashkin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kovach can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Murashkin is breathing heavily. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kovach connects with a couple of short punches. Murashkin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Murashkin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kovach doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kovach manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nik Murashkin dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Kovach gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Murashkin counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kovach won't be happy with that. Kovach is pushing Murashkin's head away, looking to escape. Murashkin manages to hold on to the position though. Kovach is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Murashkin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kovach keeps working. Murashkin tries for a kimura but Kovach is defending well. Murashkin in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Kovach is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
