PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hong Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miguel Mallorca (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mallorca has chosen I Can Talk as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Lee looks for a takedown but Mallorca sprawls well.
Mallorca throws a right and a left that Lee avoids nicely.
Lee uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mallorca.
Lee shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mallorca as he avoids it easily.

Mallorca stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hong Lee. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A looping hook to the body misses from Mallorca. Lee does a little dance to reset his feet.
Lee tries to clinch up but Mallorca circles away and keeps his distance.
Lee throws a head kick that half lands.

Lee forces Mallorca back against the cage and clinches.
A short body shot lands from Mallorca as the two fighters clinch.
Lee jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mallorca walks away with a smile on his face. Lee gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Horrible takedown by Lee or perhaps it was just good defense by Mallorca which made him look bad.

Lee connects with a high kick.

Mallorca moves into range and clinches up with Lee.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Mallorca takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Lee throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Mallorca blocks it with crossed arms.

Mallorca lands with a right to the head.
Lee misses with a knee strike.
Mallorca lands a body punch.
Lee jumps guard but Mallorca stands there with Lee around his waist. Lee gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Lee is breathing heavily.
Lee looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Mallorca is pushing Lee up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Mallorca tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lee was well out of range. Poor timing from Mallorca.
Mallorca throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Mallorca looks to score with a jab to the body but Lee is just out of range.
Mallorca throws a right and a left that both miss.
Mallorca connects with a body shot that sends Lee's belly button to the back.
Mallorca comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Mallorca scores with a sloppy right hand. Lee should have avoided that one.

Mallorca digs a right hand underneath Lee's ribcage. Lee let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Nice body punch from Mallorca - that landed with a thud.
Mallorca throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Lee tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Mallorca smiles and moves away.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Miguel Mallorca dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Mallorca gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Mallorca manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Mallorca continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.
Mallorca lands with a right to the head.

Mallorca pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hong Lee is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lee drops his hands for a split second and Mallorca immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Lee face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Mallorca follows up with a right hand that knocks Lee into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!
