Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vinny Patenza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Marston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Patenza might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to W.Peace, custom entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vinny Patenza!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Marston!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Dillan Fox and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Marston misses the target.
Marston will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Patenza closes the distance and clinches up with Marston, looking for a takedown. Patenza pushes Marston against the cage but Marston circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Patenza feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Patenza changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Marston looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Marston leaves Patenza with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Marston throws a series of punches but Patenza avoids them all with ease.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Vinny Patenza.
I think Patenza has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
