Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Edward Furlong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Self (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Furlong comes to the cage accompanied by Echo. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Edward Furlong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Don Self!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Self feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Furlong is looking to stand up but Self isn't so interested in that idea.
Furlong is controlling Self's posture.
Furlong bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Self's guard.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Furlong bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Furlong wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Self, who protects the arm well.

Furlong thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Furlong goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Self is on top in guard.

Self doesn't succeed with the takedown

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Furlong creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Furlong is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Self to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Self shrugs it off.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Furlong is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Self is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Self flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Furlong anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Self and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Furlong slips an arm under Self chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Furlong has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Furlong is squeezing on Self like an anaconda would it's prey. Self fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
