Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ban Ki Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rafael Loureiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kim comes to the cage accompanied by Guns N' Roses: Welcome To The Jungle. Loureiro is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Angra - Acid Rain. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ban Ki Kim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rafael Loureiro!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Seu Braga and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Loureiro punishes Kim's body with a nice straight punch.
Kim tries to close the distance and clinch but Loureiro swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kim tries to clinch but Loureiro is having none of it.
Loureiro keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Loureiro throws a leg kick but Kim checks it.
Loureiro avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ban Ki Kim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kim tries to clinch up.
Kim thows a body shot but no joy.
Kim tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Loureiro manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kim takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Loureiro is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kim is just riding it out for now. Loureiro eventually gives up the hold.
Loureiro wants to take a breather but Kim is having none of it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Loureiro looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Kim wants to get back to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Loureiro thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kim's head.

Loureiro swats away the attempt to clinch by Kim.
Kim moves in looking to clinch but Loureiro pushes him off.

Loureiro tries to keep at a distance but Kim has taken the fight into the clinch.

It looks like Rafael Loureiro has been cut.
Loureiro tries to pull guard but Kim won't allow it.
Kim lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

Loureiro is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Kim avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Loureiro has his foot on Kim's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kim works his way back into a safe position though.
Kim trying to stand up but can't free himself from Loureiro's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kim trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Loureiro looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kim tries to stand but Loureiro is controlling from the bottom.
Loureiro is trying to keep Kim in close.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Loureiro wants to sweep but no luck.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kim misses with a shot to the body

and Loureiro counters with a shoot takedown. Kim fights it but they end up in guard.

Loureiro wants to control from the top but Kim keeps moving.
Loureiro wants to pass the guard but Kim is keeping the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Loureiro is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kim is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kim has escaped and now he's on top!

A close second round but Rafael Loureiro will probably get the nod - 10:9.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

and Loureiro connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Kim thumps Loureiro with a low kick.
Loureiro tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Loureiro ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kim moves away.
Kim throws a sloppy head kick and Loureiro moves out of range easily.

letting Loureiro counter with a right hand.
Kim avoids the body shot from Loureiro.
Kim lands a nice leg kick that just misses Loureiro's sensitive parts.
Loureiro keeps the fight on the outside.

and Loureiro counters with a low kick, right behind Kim 's knee.

and Loureiro counters with a shoot takedown. Kim fights it but they end up in guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Loureiro accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Loureiro drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kim looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kim looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kim!

Loureiro manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Loureiro is pressing down on Kim's thigh, looking to free his foot. Kim is holding on for now.

Kim is staying active underneath Loureiro, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Ban Ki Kim has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Loureiro is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kim doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Loureiro.

Rafael Loureiro is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
