Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Vasya Osipov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack McCarthy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Osipov comes to the cage accompanied by Linkin Park - What i've done. McCarthy has chosen 30 Seconds to Mars - The Kill as his entrance music. Jack McCarthy has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vasya Osipov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jack McCarthy!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Igor Prikhodko and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Osipov as McCarthy shoots in.
McCarthy ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
McCarthy looks for a takedown but Osipov sprawls well.
Osipov avoids a punch combination nicely.
Osipov tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but McCarthy swivels and escapes.
McCarthy doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Osipov counters with a single leg into guard. McCarthy didn't expect that.
Vasya Osipov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack McCarthy.
Osipov tries to free his leg and advance position but McCarthy is retaining full guard.

Osipov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McCarthy swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Osipov is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
McCarthy is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Osipov lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

McCarthy is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
McCarthy tries for a takedown but Osipov circles away easily
and Osipov counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Osipov gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
McCarthy closes the distance but Osipov moves to the side
and Osipov counters by moving into the clinch.
McCarthy tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Osipov just stands there and leans against the cage.

Vasya Osipov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack McCarthy.
McCarthy looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
McCarthy has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Osipov avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

McCarthy changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Osipov fights it off and pushes away nicely.
McCarthy is breathing heavily.
Osipov shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches McCarthy napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Osipov wants to control but McCarthy is keeping him busy.
Osipov goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, McCarthy has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Osipov but great work by McCarthy.
Osipov is looking for a sweep.
McCarthy cracks Osipov with an elbow. That is naaassty.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

McCarthy tries to pass the half guard into mount. Osipov knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Osipov is trying to control but McCarthy manages to pass to mount!
Osipov is squirming around, avoiding McCarthy's attempts to control the action.
McCarthy might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Osipov kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

McCarthy pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
McCarthy landing strikes from the mount and Osipov is in trouble!
McCarthy with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Osipov won't allow McCarthy to pass to mount.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!

Osipov has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but McCarthy regains guard immediately.

McCarthy is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Osipov is not content to let McCarthy control the position.
Osipov manages to get to full guard.
McCarthy wants to stand but Osipov is controlling his posture from full guard.
McCarthy stays in close to Osipov's body and controls the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
McCarthy has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Osipov is proving hard to escape from.
Osipov bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in McCarthy's guard.
McCarthy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Osipov is one step ahead there.

McCarthy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Vasya Osipov has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
McCarthy tries to close the distance and clinch but Osipov swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
McCarthy displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Osipov.
A nice inside leg kick there by McCarthy. That's going to slow Osipov down.
McCarthy ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
McCarthy misses with a takedown
and Osipov counters with a nice double leg into side control. McCarthy won't be happy with that.
McCarthy tries to escape but Osipov is in control.
Jack McCarthy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Vasya Osipov is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
McCarthy is looking to regain half guard here but Osipov keeps moving and retains side control.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Osipov, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
