4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Philco Hitachi! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Ivan Kurochkin and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hitachi checks a leg kick. Hitachi takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
It looks like Philco Hitachi has been cut. Wigenfors will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hitachi blocks a leg kick. Wigenfors keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Wigenfors lands a jab to Hitachi's midsection. Robert Wigenfors seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hitachi bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Hitachi is trying to get an arm triangle but Wigenfors is defending well. Hitachi tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hitachi has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Wigenfors knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hitachi on the ground. Hitachi is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Wigenfors is trying to escape and Hitachi transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Wigenfors is forced to tap! Nice work there by Hitachi! Very nice indeed!
