Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Frankie Edgar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samuel Pieter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frankie Edgar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Samuel Pieter! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Aafke Stam and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Edgar gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Pieter tries to stall but Edgar uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Edgar has Pieter pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Edgar pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Pieter tumbling to the mat - Edgar dives into Pieter's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pieter working a defensive guard here.
Edgar stays in close to Pieter's body and controls the position. Pieter looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Edgar controls from within his opponent's guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Edgar forces his way into half guard. Edgar not doing much here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pieter is trying to get back to full guard. Pieter is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Edgar performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Frankie Edgar has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Edgar shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pieter trying to hold on to Edgar's head to control him but Edgar postures up.
Pieter tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Edgar keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Frankie Edgar wasn't doing enough on the ground. Pieter wants to clinch but Edgar slips to the side and Edgar counters with a shoot takedown. Pieter fights it but they end up in guard. Pieter had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Edgar defends it easily. Edgar showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Edgar is pushing down on Pieter's leg trying to pass to half guard. Pieter is fighting to maintain full guard but Edgar has managed to sneak the leg through. Edgar is controlling the pace.
Edgar frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Pieter looks gassed!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Edgar controlling his opponent. Edgar avoids the attempt from Pieter to control. Edgar controlling from the full mount. Edgar seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Pieter for as long as he can get away with. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frankie Edgar dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Frankie Edgar. Pieter avoids the body shot from Edgar.
Edgar closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Edgar drags the fight down to the ground.

Edgar is controlling Pieter's posture. Pieter looking to sit in guard and control but Edgar gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Edgar stays in close to Pieter's body and controls the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Edgar might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
We're going to have a standup here because Frankie Edgar wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Pieter throws a sloppy head kick and Edgar moves out of range easily. Samuel Pieter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Pieter fails with the takedown and Edgar decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Pieter's guard. Pieter is breathing heavily. Edgar pushes down on Pieter's leg and manages to get into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Edgar is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Frankie Edgar overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Edgar content just to control the position here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frankie Edgar dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Edgar throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Edgar closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Pieter quickly recovers to half guard. Edgar controlling the action here. Edgar's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Pieter is looking to stand back up but Edgar counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Pieter. Edgar is taking a breather. Pieter says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Pieter tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Edgar has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Edgar content just to control the position here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Edgar has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Pieter wants to hold on but Edgar pushes him away.

And that's the end of the fight! Frankie Edgar showed his dominance in that final round. Well Edgar has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
