Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladimir Kopylov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Yura Kombayn! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Ivan Kurochkin and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A big left from Kopylov misses. Kombayn has closed the distance and engaged Kopylov in a clinch.
Kopylov pulls guard successfully.
Kombayn loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kombayn accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Kombayn throws a strike but Kopylov rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Kopylov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kombayn has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kopylov has managed to get both his arms back between Kombayn's legs - danger averted. Kopylov would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. That's one minute gone in the round. Kopylov prevents Kombayn from getting back to his feet. Kopylov has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kombayn is proving hard to escape from. Kopylov has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Kopylov not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Kombayn keeping moving, preventing Kopylov from controlling successfully.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Vladimir Kopylov just wasn't active enough. Kopylov fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Nice jab there from Kopylov. Kombayn uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kopylov. Kopylov slaps away a takedown attempt from Kombayn, before circling back to the center of the mat. Kopylov is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kombayn. Kopylov misses with a body shot.
Kopylov leaves Kombayn with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Kopylov lands an overhand right. Vladimir Kopylov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kombayn connects with a nice short shot to Kopylov's temple. Kopylov avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kombayn. Kombayn is trying to control. Kopylov wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Kopylov is trying to stand back up but Kombayn is controlling him

Kopylov is refusing to be controlled, as Kombayn sits in half guard. Kombayn is working for a submission of some sort.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kombayn lands a nice short elbow. Kopylov is trying to stand.
Kombayn not landing any meaningful shots this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vladimir Kopylov dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Kopylov scores with a jab to the body. A right-left combo lands from Kopylov. Vladimir Kopylov is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. A combination from Kopylov does no damage. Kopylov lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Kombayn is rocked! Kombayn throws a wild hook but Kopylov just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Kombayn gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Kopylov raises his hands in celebration and walks away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vladimir Kopylov!
