The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Fair is defended easily by Angle.

Fair has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Angle is proving hard to escape from.

Dwayne Fair has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Angle tries to clinch but Fair is having none of it.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Fair is letting Angle control him for a moment.
Fair tries to buck Angle off but Angle is having none of it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Angle remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

A close round but Dwayne Fair will probably get the nod.

No luck for Angle with that takedown attempt.

Fair bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Angle's guard.
Fair wants to get up but he can't break Angle's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Fair loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fair accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Angle wants to hit a switch here but Fair passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Angle there!

Fair looking to control but Angle is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Fair might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Angle kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Angle is desperately trying to improve his position but Fair has a good base and remains in mount.
Fair can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Angle is looking to escape.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Angle wants to control but Fair is having none of it.
Fair wants to control the pace but Angle is squirming around nicely.
Fair tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Angle decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Fair wants to control but Angle is keeping busy.

That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Fair shoots in but Angle avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Fair misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Angle.

Fair slips nicely into half guard.
Angle is not content to let Fair control the position.
Fair passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Angle!
Angle on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Angle tries to get out of the position.

Angle wants to hold on but Fair pushes him away.
Fair tries to control but Angle wriggling away.
Angle wants to control but Fair is having none of it.

Fair trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Angle knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fair on the ground.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Dwayne Fair.

and Fair counters with a single leg into guard. Angle didn't expect that.
Fair postures up.
Fair slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Fair trying to control but Angle is working from the bottom.
Fair passes Angle's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Fair seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dwayne Fair comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Fair has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
