0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ramsey Wood! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Johanna Lukiainen and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wood stuffs the takedown attempt from Lehnsherr. Lehnsherr gets slowly back to his feet. Wood moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Lehnsherr looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Lehnsherr trying to mount his opponent but Wood defends it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wood trying to hold on to Lehnsherr's head to control him but Lehnsherr postures up.
Wood is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Lehnsherr's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Lehnsherr's back! Wood is persistently looking for the submission but Lehnsherr is defending it well.

He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Wood is not content to let Lehnsherr control the position. Lehnsherr thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Lehnsherr throws a sloppy head kick and Wood counters with a nice double leg into guard. Oh Lehnsherr is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! This has been an exciting period of action! Wood looking to pass the guard. Lehnsherr working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Wood doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Wood manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Lehnsherr seems to have got his legs back now. Lehnsherr is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Wood is controlling him. Wood passes Lehnsherr's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Wood is looking to advance position but Lehnsherr won't allow it. Wood thows a huge punch but Lehnsherr dodges it nicely.

He's got his arms around Wood's waist but Wood gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lehnsherr off to one side. Lehnsherr lands a head kick!
Lehnsherr bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Lehnsherr controls the position from side control. Wood is trying to control Lehnsherr's posture but Lehnsherr avoids it. Lehnsherr advances to full mount. Wood taking shots to the head. Eric Lehnsherr overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Lehnsherr trying to control but he's not successful this time. Lehnsherr can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Wood is looking to escape. Lehnsherr postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Wood looks a forlorn figure.
Lehnsherr blocks Wood's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Wood is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Wood is trying desperately to improve position. Wood holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Lehnsherr tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

That's seven minutes gone in the round. Wood wants to control but Lehnsherr is having none of it. Wood is looking to improve his position but Lehnsherr isn't that keen on the idea. Wood manages to regain half guard. Good work. Lehnsherr stands up and beckons Wood to join him on the feet. Wood looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lehnsherr is fending him off so far but Wood persists. Nope, Lehnsherr circles away and we're back to standing. Lehnsherr closes the distance looking to clinch and Wood counters with a right hand to the body. Lehnsherr shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lehnsherr showed some decent athleticism there. Lehnsherr throws a strike but Wood avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. Wood manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Lehnsherr feints and as Wood raises his hands in defense, Lehnsherr changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Wood is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Lehnsherr wants to control from the top but Wood keeps moving. Lehnsherr trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Lehnsherr trying to control but Wood is working from the bottom. Lehnsherr works over Wood with some ground and pound from guard. Lehnsherr is pushing down on Wood's leg trying to pass to half guard. Wood is fighting to maintain full guard but Lehnsherr has managed to sneak the leg through. Wood is refusing to be controlled, as Lehnsherr sits in half guard. Wood desperately trying to maintain half guard. Lehnsherr takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Wood looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Lehnsherr throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Wood keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Eric Lehnsherr. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lehnsherr, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
