The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Burd gets the takedown into side control.
Burd prevents Soturi from escaping the position.
Soturi is looking to reverse the position.
Burd trying to control the position but Soturi is working away.
Burd is really struggling to control Soturi but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Burd has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Soturi is working to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Burd tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Burd is landing with some decent strikes but Soturi is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Soturi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Burd. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Soturi wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

Burd is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Soturi has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Burd has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Soturi taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Burd doesn't care though - he's delighted!
