Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Francisco Xavier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Red Slayer!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Mauricio Rocha and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slayer closes the distance and lands a one-two.


It looks like Francisco Xavier has been cut.
Slayer looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Slayer tries to bum rush Xavier with a series of wild strikes but Xavier uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Slayer throws a nice looking combination but Xavier bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Slayer gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Xavier pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Slayer is keeping the position for now.
Xavier prevents Slayer from getting back to his feet.

Xavier drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Slayer manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Xavier has Slayer in his guard.
Slayer wants to stand but Xavier is controlling his posture from full guard.
Slayer is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Slayer gets to his feet. Xavier looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Slayer throws a right and a left that both miss.
Xavier showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Slayer.
Slayer looks gassed!
Xavier tries for a takedown but Slayer sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Xavier fails with a takedown attempt.
Slayer throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Slayer misses with a few strikes there.
Xavier dives in and grabs Slayer's left leg, looking for a takedown. Slayer pushes down on Xavier's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Francisco Xavier. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Xavier shoots for a double leg takedown but Slayer sprawls well. He's pushed Xavier's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Xavier shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Slayer can do anything to dispel that myth.

Xavier is trying for a kimura here. Slayer looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Xavier wins by kimura!
