The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Owens throws a series of punches but Romano avoids them all with ease.
Crunch! Romano slams his shin into Owens's torso.
Romano fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Romano shoots in for a double leg but Owens sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Owens shoots in and bounces Romano off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Romano manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Owens manages to get himself to full guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
