Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jeron Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aoki Matsumoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee comes to the cage accompanied by Majulah Singapura. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jeron Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aoki Matsumoto!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Matsumoto.

Matsumoto shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Lee works his way to full guard. Good work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Matsumoto tries to free his leg and advance position but Lee is retaining full guard.
Lee wants to get back to his feet but Matsumoto is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Matsumoto drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Lee manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Matsumoto has Lee in his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lee avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Lee got a little sloppy there for a moment and Matsumoto has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lee has managed to get both his arms back between Matsumoto's legs - danger averted.

Matsumoto can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lee controls the pace.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Lee is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Lee advances position into side control!
Matsumoto is letting Lee control him for a moment.
Lee seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Matsumoto for as long as he can get away with.
Matsumoto is looking for a sweep.
Lee advances to mount.

Lee controlling the position easily from mount.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Lee misses with a takedown attempt

and Matsumoto counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lee won't be happy with that.

Matsumoto is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lee knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Lee bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jeron Lee.

Lee closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lee lands in his opponent's guard.
Lee is pushing down on Matsumoto's leg trying to pass to half guard. Matsumoto is fighting to maintain full guard but Lee has managed to sneak the leg through.
Lee passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Matsumoto!

Matsumoto is trying desperately to improve position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Matsumoto is working to get back to half guard.
Lee controlling from mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jeron Lee dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!


Lee misses with a takedown

and Matsumoto counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Matsumoto is trying to work for a kimura but Lee is defending well.
Lee moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Matsumoto drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lee dives on top into guard.
Lee slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Matsumoto is looking for a sweep.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Matsumoto gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Lee controlling the position easily from mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

We're going to have a standup here because Jeron Lee wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Lee fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Matsumoto scores with a takedown into Lee's guard.
Matsumoto stops Lee from standing up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Matsumoto thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Matsumoto prevents Lee from getting back to his feet.
Matsumoto stands and throws Lee's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Matsumoto working away.
Lee is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Matsumoto swings around for an armbar but Lee sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Matsumoto's guard.
Lee slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Aoki Matsumoto has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Matsumoto keeping moving, preventing Lee from controlling successfully.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Aoki Matsumoto.
Well Lee has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
