Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gary Gygax (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergey Brezhezinskiy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sergey Brezhezinskiy struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 156.4lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. The key to victory for Gary Gygax has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sergey Brezhezinskiy! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gygax throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Brezhezinskiy was covering up waiting for the punch and Gygax finishes the takedown easily into guard. Gygax trying to control but Brezhezinskiy is working from the bottom. Gygax is really struggling to control Brezhezinskiy but he's trying to hold on to the position. Brezhezinskiy working for a triangle but Gygax defends it easily.
Gygax wants to pass the guard but Brezhezinskiy is keeping the position. Gygax in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Brezhezinskiy is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Brezhezinskiy looks gassed! Brezhezinskiy keeping full guard, as Gygax tries to pass. Brezhezinskiy pushes Gygax off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Sergey Brezhezinskiy has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. A slapping body kick lands there for Gygax. Brezhezinskiy gets caught flat footed, as Gygax shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Gary Gygax will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Well, if Gygax is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Gygax bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Brezhezinskiy is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Gygax blocks the strikes from Brezhezinskiy.
