PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cyril Kivel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Summers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Cyril Kivel has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Cyril Kivel seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Scott Summers!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, David Schapiro and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kivel fails to land with a series of punches.
Kivel goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


It looks like Scott Summers has been cut.
Kivel is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Kivel darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
No joy there for Kivel, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Summers throws a jab when Kivel was well out of range.
Kivel lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Kivel throws a series of punches but Summers moves out of range.
Summers is still on wobbly legs! Can Kivel finish him?
Kivel throws a right and a left that both miss.

Summers shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kivel manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Summers prevents Kivel from escaping the position.
Summers wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kivel keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Summers might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kivel kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

That was a close round but I would say that Cyril Kivel will probably get the nod.

Kivel does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Scott Summers showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Kivel scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Summers manages to mount him!

Let's hope that Summers has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Scott Summers comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Summers has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
