The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oars shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rotthwell as he avoids it easily.
Rotthwell jabs Oars right on the nose. Oars blinks but takes it well.
Rotthwell misses with a series of wild punches.
Benn Rotthwell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Oars shoots in for a takedown but Rotthwell shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Oooooh!!! Rotthwell has knocked Oars down with a huge combo! Rotthwell steps away and waves a wobbly Oars back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rotthwell tries to bum rush Oars with a series of wild strikes but Oars uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Rotthwell lands with a good body shot.
Rotthwell misses with a double jab.
Rotthwell swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Rotthwell lands a left and a right that send Oars crashing to the mat, dazed. Rotthwell thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Oars is rocked!
Rotthwell goes for a small jab and connects. Now Rotthwell goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Oars stumbles back but Rotthwell runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Oars to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Oars will ever be the same after a knockout like that.
