Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ostap Dzu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pugan Puganchich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ostap Dzu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Pugan Puganchich!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Valeri Chadov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dzu keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Dzu dodges the punch combination from Puganchich.
Puganchich fails to land the takedown.
Dzu stuffs the takedown attempt from Puganchich. Puganchich gets slowly back to his feet.
Ostap Dzu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pugan Puganchich.

Pugan Puganchich seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Puganchich shoots in for a takedown but Dzu shows good takedown defense.

Dzu shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Puganchich is trying to defend but Dzu finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Puganchich is trying to maintain the position but Dzu is very close to passing his half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Dzu knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Puganchich on the ground.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Dzu is taking a breather. Puganchich says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Pugan Puganchich wasn't active enough on the ground.
Puganchich gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Dzu counters with a two punch combo.
Puganchich shoots and misses

and Dzu counters with a shoot takedown. Puganchich fights it but they end up in guard.
Dzu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Puganchich swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Puganchich is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Puganchich might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Dzu kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Puganchich is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Pugan Puganchich has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Dzu misses with a series of wild punches.

Dzu drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Dzu works over Puganchich with some ground and pound from guard.

Puganchich looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Dzu looking to pass the guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Puganchich tries for a takedown but Dzu circles away easily

and Dzu counters with a single leg into guard. Puganchich didn't expect that.
Puganchich is trying to control the position but Dzu postures up.
Dzu wants to control from the top but Puganchich keeps moving.

Puganchich working for a triangle but Dzu defends it easily.
Puganchich pulls Dzu in close to prevent any damage.

Dzu got a little sloppy there for a moment and Puganchich has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dzu has managed to get both his arms back between Puganchich's legs - danger averted.
Puganchich not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dzu passes into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Puganchich trying to control but Dzu postures up.
Dzu seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Puganchich does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Puganchich trying to control from the bottom.
Dzu is looking to advance position but Puganchich won't allow it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Puganchich looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Dzu is trying to control the action in half guard but Puganchich is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Puganchich tries to get to full guard but Dzu has control of the leg.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dzu trying to advance position but Puganchich counters by regaining guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ostap Dzu dominated that second round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Puganchich shoots and misses

and Dzu counters with a nice double leg into side control. Puganchich won't be happy with that.
You can see the frustration on Puganchich's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Dzu tries to advance to mount but Puganchich denies him.
Puganchich struggling a bit here.

Puganchich is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Dzu is staying active.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Puganchich manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Puganchich is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Dzu is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Puganchich works his foot free and advances to mount.

Puganchich has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Dzu is forced to tap!
