Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Byron Novak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jordan Sood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sood has chosen Rap Beat as his entrance music. Byron Novak has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Byron Novak! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jordan Sood! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Eliza Hachem and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some wild striking there from Sood.
Novak tries to keep at a distance but Sood has taken the fight into the clinch. Sood lands on the inside with an uppercut. Sood breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Sood fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Sood doesn't manage to clinch there - Novak circles away.
Novak shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Sood is trying to defend but Novak finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Sood blocking the ground and pound attempt from Novak. Novak is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Novak connects with a nice short shot to Sood's temple. Sood tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Novak drops an elbow to the side of Sood's head. Sood avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Novak.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sood tries to roll over but Novak keeps him under control. Novak drops an elbow to the side of Sood's head. Novak has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Sood wants to get back to his feet. Novak working the head and body with strikes. Novak lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Sood is looking to escape. Ground and pound from Novak. Novak is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Novak is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Novak working over Sood with some ground and pound. Sood looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Sood on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Novak slips a nice elbow through Sood's hands, connecting with Sood's forehead. Novak throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Novak will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Sood wants to control but Novak is keeping busy and won't allow it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Novak working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Sood regains full guard. Nicely done. Novak landing some decent shots from guard. Novak drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Novak jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Novak scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Novak with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Novak chips away with some ground and pound. Sood has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Novak should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Sood has tightened it up now! Novak should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
