Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sam Hedry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Martin Legeld (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hedry comes to the cage accompanied by Run this town. Legeld has chosen System Of A Down-Metro as his entrance music. Martin Legeld is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Alyssa Summers and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hedry tries to close the distance and clinch up but Legeld swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Hedry keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Nice takedown defense from Hedry. No joy for Legeld on that attempt.
Hedry displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Legeld.
Sam Hedry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Martin Legeld.
Legeld gets tackled into the cage by Hedry. Hedry maintains the clinch.
Legeld goes for a takedown attempt but Hedry pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Hedry shoots and misses
and Legeld counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hedry won't be happy with that.

Hedry tries to control but Legeld manages to take his back.
Legeld lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Legeld is trying to stick to Hedry's back but Hedry is turning into Legeld. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Legeld's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Hedry.
Hedry wants to control from the top but Legeld keeps moving.
Legeld has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Hedry is in close to Legeld's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Legeld might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hedry kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Legeld misses with a takedown
and Hedry counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Legeld!

Hedry jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Legeld is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Legeld and Hedry has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Hedry advances to full mount.
Legeld tries to hold on but Hedry postures up.
Legeld is desperately trying to improve his position but Hedry has a good base and remains in mount.
Hedry goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Legeld is on top in guard.

Hedry is trying to keep Legeld in close.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Legeld accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Legeld trying to stand up but can't free himself from Hedry's guard.
Legeld looks gassed!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Legeld's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Hedry's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Hedry has his takedown stuffed
and Legeld counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Hedry has his foot on Legeld's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Legeld works his way back into a safe position though.
Legeld drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Legeld jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Legeld throws a strike but Hedry rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Legeld looking to control.
Legeld has his foot on Hedry's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hedry works his way back into a safe position though.

Legeld utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Legeld is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Legeld is breathing heavily.
Hedry avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Legeld has momentary wrist control but Hedry slips an elbow through the middle.
Hedry wants to get up but he can't break Legeld's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Hedry has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Legeld utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hedry trying to control but Legeld is working from the bottom.
Hedry postures up.
Hedry is pushing down on Legeld's leg trying to pass to half guard. Legeld is fighting to maintain full guard but Hedry has managed to sneak the leg through.
Hedry wants to lay and pray for a moment but Legeld keeps working.
Hedry wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Legeld uses the opportunity to regain full guard.

Hedry wanted to stand there but Legeld had control of the position.
Legeld is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Hedry stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Legeld swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hedry wants to control from the top but Legeld keeps moving.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Sam Hedry just wasn't active enough.
Legeld closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hedry to the mat! Hedry manages to get full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hedry is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Martin Legeld showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Hedry is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Legeld pulls his head out easily.

Legeld has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Legeld keeps control of the position as Hedry tries to break free.
Legeld lands a shot to the head.
Legeld working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Hedry is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Legeld has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Hedry taps out!
